Spinner Delfine

TRIGGER WARNING! This story describes murder, blood, gore, the plague, and psychological issues.

Gobi was born into a huge nomad tribe in the desert. Being raised by Naunet meant the same survival as any other cat that was born under the sun of Ra. Soon, Gobi learned that life and death are important alike and that if someone died or about to pass away no action shall be taken. The desert gave and took, its gods demanded those lives.

Ra was the leader of the wandering group, many by members. It wasn't unusual that the leader himself had romances all across his people. This was how Gobi was born, alongside her 25 additional half-siblings. The oldest among them all somehow gained their sire's admiration, with rumors spread across the community that Barakat was the bastard of a ruling queen. During the day, the offspring of Ra never had any other goal in life but to gain their father's favor, leading to rivalry and fights. Gobi herself was once among them but she soon stopped craving for something that may never come to her.

Her dear brother noticed and started to terrorize the young she-cat whenever the time pleased. Cats acting out of the law were like a thorn in the paw beans and had to be carefully reviewed. And the golden she-cat started to despised her father and brother.

Another she-cat gifted Ra children, Zahara and Nimab were born into the unforgiving world. Nothing really important due to the fact countless of the Deity of the flare Barrens' creations - but this one was different. Among sand and brown toned cats, or golds or clays, was now a tiny kitten - a few moons old - developing unusual salmon-colored fur. And with her birth, it stopped raining... forever. With her growing up, corruption came. With her change of color, the world started dying. Zahara became a bad omen, feared to be their doom.

-- HEAVY GORE WARNING --

Six moon old Nimab was the first one being caught by the foulness creeping the land. Being Zahara's littermate seemed to seal her fate even worse. The infection suffered hard and the child had been left dying in the middle of the community while vultures feasted on the still-living body.

Omen was left with isolation, nobody wanted to play with her or spent time. Gobi, only a bit older than her, empathized with her, but with every try to get near the salmon-colored cat, her mother held Gobi away.
On one fateful night, Bara's circle and himself took Omen away, the child of no less than 11 months. And with their return, Omen was gone. Forever.

Years later, with the plague rolling Nandryc, a newcomer to the group. Cyno was a she-cat who taught her the fascination of healing and astrology. Many called it witchcraft, an absurd construct but it was interesting nonetheless. Gobi practiced any sorts of these weird crafts, unsure about the true effects of them. But Barakat, her main victim, became ill one day, and it felt like a success. Sooner than expected the tom survived the disease but that wasn't where Gobi stopped. Naunet, a loyal follower of Barakat, had seen what the silver she-cat had done with her precious daughter, and so she held an eye out to find anything suspicious about the female.

Cyno seemed to have gained Ra's favor, her unusual white pelt among the brown and sand toned ones woke interest in the she-cat. The only one who had a similar pelt was Barakat, who looked like the queen mother. Perhaps this familiarity dragged the giant tom to her. Gobi's mother fell into deep hate, as she had lost the god's attention, but remained quiet. For now...

The silver tabby and Gobi spent a lot of time together, whenever Cy could, she taught her golden friend how to read the stars or how to use plants to transfer into medicine. And she told her she was expecting. Much likely Ra's child. Of course, Gobi saw this rationally. It wasn't unusual to learn anyone was expecting from her sire, so she offered support. Months later, a single kitten was born. The fur as bright as the shining sun, stripes on her back and a face marking that revealed the truth about the kin; Ra was her father.

The months have passed until Barhariya became five moons old. It was that time where Cyno tried to flee from the tribe. It was Gobi's own mother who betrayed the she-cat, blaming her for bewitching Gobi. That every crime done by her own daughter was the fault of the witch. In front of the judges, who were Barakat and his circle, they opened a trial on the silver cat. Ra, who was deeply disappointed by what Cyno did, turned away from the she-cat and their daughter, to leave the decision in his son's paw.

-- Death trigger --

And Barakat sent both to death row. Of course, Cyno cried for mercy, but not for herself, but for Barhariya. The mother's throat was slipped open, while they grabbed the kitten's frame between huge paws. And it was Naunet who poured the venom into Bari's eyes, blinding them. Forever.

Gobi took the injured kitten away from her dead mother to dip her into water. Her little sister's eyes were dull forever, and she didn't see her beloved stars anymore... The Chausie she-cat felt the urge to grand her friend a last wish and took Bari in. Not to raise her like a mother, but more like a mentor. So she passed everything to the young cat she learned from Cyno.

[REDECTED]

And finally, she reached The Door. The cut in space to safety. Arriving there Gobi wandered the Neutral Land, cautious about the condition of it. The greenest of grass grew over the healed ground, but at a second glance, one could see that a damaged land was once present. Continuing her way Gobi found herself at Meadow of Serenity, seven structures towering over her. One, in particular, looked intriguing. The little witch walked around them, studying them... until she decided to touch one because they felt like power, a sheer mystery.

Welcome, Moroha. Use your mind wisely.
